Hmmm....am I missing something? What's with all the candy and paper hearts and public displays of affection? Is today some sort of special day or something? Hey, if I don't get it off from work, then it's not an official holiday!
Actually, this turned out to be a pretty great day:
- "preschool" became "doughnut shop"
- Valentines from the kiddos
- rainbow-colored plastic heart beaded necklace, made by yours truly
- necklace+pink flowery skirt+tights+green canvas shoes=feeling nostalgic for my childhood? And loving it!
- 45 degrees in January? feels like Spring.....
- exploring the Island at sunset. 4 miles! Go me!
- talked to my Mama! and my little sis. :)
- dinner adventures with Lucy
- Papa Kelsey's personal supreme pizza
- Hershey's chocolate...no, it's not Dove, but it'll do!
- 13 Going on 30 in the queue...as soon as I can stop writing and rewriting this post.
Remind me again why I need a man to make this day special? ;)
Amen!! Way to look on the bright side of the day! I just choose to ignore it, which worked in my favor too. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I would have ignored it too....except it was a little difficult to avoid at work when we started preparations for our Valentine's Day party weeks ago. It was pretty much an invasion of hearts and flowers and candy and everything pink and red. But it's over now....and at least I got some chocolate out of it! :D
